Introduction
The only Japanese-style temple in korea built by a Japanese monk in 1909Dongguksa Temple was constructed as the Geumgang temple under Japanese diplomat, Uchida in 1913. He made this building by importing every material from Japan. There are traces of someone that tried to erase the name of the Japanese emperor by using cement. Dongguksa is drastically different from Korean temples. There is no Iljumun gate or statue of the Four Devas at the entrance. Furthermore, the slope of the roof is steep when compared to Korean temples.
